It's been a while since we introduced ourselves: the co-founders & organizers of Harbor Country Pride.

We are Travis Worden & Abby Voss, a gay man and a queer woman, a local and a transplant, who wanted to bring a celebratory festival to the already well-established queer community of Harbor Country & beyond. We built our friendship over this shared idea and 2 years ago in March 2021, we began planning. Having no idea how to start something like this or what to expect and we continue to be floored by the financial and physical commitments of the people and businesses of this area to create a more inclusive space. We focused on highlighting LGBTQIA+ artists, musicians, local businesses and families, hosting over 50+ events raising over $25k that we put back into our area communities.

Year 2 we decided we wanted to specifically create a safe space for the area's queer/trans youth. With the never-ending help of The Out Center, we created GROM, a graduation/prom for the local jr high/high school Gender & Sexuality Alliances. We agree that this event has been the most successful/fulfilling in our span as HCP and will continue it until we are too old and gray(er) and must past the torch to the next group of leaders.

This year, we are including more family friendly events, as well as providing platforms for more queer folx to share their voices. After all, that is why we do what we do: to safely elevate queer voices and offer them haven in our home of Harbor Country. All of this being said, we recognize that our stories and ideas may be limited to our own experiences in queerness. That is why we have created a space on our website where you can join in on our mission anonymously. We all have areas in which we can improve so now there is a platform for you all to be able to safely and effectively share those experiences and concerns with us.

Also, we are still accepting VOLUNTEERS so if you've got some time and love to give, please let us know. Harbor Country Pride is by the community for the community.
